Terror Pack summons: check the meter before changing the whole build

A September 1 player reported weak or disappearing summons while combining several meter-reduction effects. The report does not establish one confirmed bug or one universal fix.

  • Read the pact's current spawn conditions, duration and target rules; verify what was actually summoned.
  • Compare the current Quasimorphosis stage with the benefits the summoned unit is expected to receive. Lowering the meter for personal safety and strengthening a Quasimorph summon may be competing goals.
  • Test one change at a time in an expendable setup, recording pact, class perks, implants, stage and mission type.
  • Do not treat a normal faction capture as a substitute for checking Absentia or a story-specific meter rule.

What raises the meter

The meter increases as turns pass, and violence accelerates the breach. Human, animal and Quasimorph deaths on the current floor can add pressure. Once Eccolapse begins, fighting between newly manifested Quasimorphs and human factions can create a feedback loop: more deaths raise the meter, which creates more dangerous manifestations and still more deaths.

Most meat-derived food is another important source of meter growth. That makes emergency hunger decisions part of the same risk system as combat. Property damage and destroyed robotic units do not behave like organic deaths in the current reference, so not every act of destruction has the same effect.

Lowering and slowing Quasimorphosis

Some luxury food, alcohol, recreational drugs, implants and other effects can reduce or slow the meter. Read the live item tooltip and hold the expanded-information key when a trait is unclear. A displayed negative Quasimorphosis modifier usually changes the rate or value described by that item; it does not mean the entire system is permanently disabled.

Use control items before the meter reaches a crisis phase, not after the floor has already become chaotic. Their inventory cost must still be justified. On a short objective near extraction, carrying excessive control supplies may be less valuable than simply completing the task and leaving.

Make a meter decision before deployment

  1. 01

    Identify the location

Confirm whether Quasimorph activity can occur and which Bramfatura influences the planet or satellite.

  2. 02

    Choose control or escalation

A normal survival run should suppress the meter; a Pact or Insanity strategy may deliberately benefit from higher phases.

  3. 03

    Pack one reliable answer

Bring appropriate food and a realistic meter-control option rather than assuming random floor loot will solve the problem.

  4. 04

    Watch phase boundaries

Reassess at 100, 250, 400, 600 and 800 instead of waiting for the 1000 warning.

  5. 05

    Protect the exit

Complete interactions and move toward extraction while evacuation is still available.

  6. 06

    Commit to Rapture only deliberately

At 1000, the mission changes into a Baron fight with evacuation disabled. Do not drift into it with empty magazines or untreated wounds.

How Eccolapse changes positioning

Eccolapse uses an organic creature as a gateway for a Quasimorph. During the first two turns of manifestation, the new entity is described as immobile and invulnerable. Shooting it during that phase wastes resources. Reposition, break sight lines, or let hostile factions spend their own actions and ammunition on the emerging threat.

The safest response is not always immediate engagement. A manifestation can distract enemies, open a route or turn a crowded room into a fight you observe from cover. The same chaos becomes lethal when the player has no retreat lane, so maintain space and avoid ending a turn beside a phasing target.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is maximum meter reduction always best for a summoner?

Not automatically. Check the summon and pact conditions alongside the current stage. The September player report is a reason to isolate these variables, not proof that a specific reduction implant causes every disappearing summon.

What happens when Quasimorphosis reaches 1000?

Rapture begins, evacuation becomes unavailable, humans on the floor Eccolapse under the documented exceptions, and a Baron enters. Killing it ends Rapture and resets the meter to 100.

What does Quasimorphosis -1 mean on an item?

It indicates a reduction described by that item's current tooltip, commonly affecting meter progression. Hold the expanded-information key and verify the live wording because item behavior can change.

Can Quasimorphosis ever help a build?

Yes. Insanity-oriented operators and Pacts can benefit from higher Quasimorphosis, but the same escalation strengthens enemies and can lock evacuation at Rapture.

Should beginners fight a Baron?

Usually no. Learn meter control and extraction first. Attempt Rapture only with deliberate damage coverage, supplies, space and a build intended for the fight.

How can I tell if a mission will have Quasimorphosis?

Check the location, possible Bramfatura, mission type, Absentia condition, and starting or locked meter state. Planet name alone is insufficient.

What does Quasimorphosis +1 or -1 mean?

Read the current tooltip and context: modifiers affect meter pressure or related behavior, but should not be assumed to move the mission by one entire named phase.
